Week 2. Have you ever...?
a. Use of Present Perfect:
has/have + past participle
1. drive a sports car
Have you ever driven a sport car?
I have never driven a sport car.
2. climb a mountain
Have you ever climbed a mountain
No, never
b. Write the past participles of the next verbs:
ride --- ridden --- montar
drive -- driven --- conducir
go --- gone --- ir
do --- done --- hacer
climb --- climbed --- subir
see --- seen --- ver
fly --- flown --- volar
run --- run --- correr
win --- won --- ganar
lose --- lost --- perder
write --- written --- escribir
be --- been --- ser, estar
We use the present perfect for experiences. We often use ever in questions and never is statements.
A: Have you ever lost your key?
B: Yes, I have
A: When did you lose it?
B: I lost it last Saturday
A: Where did you lose it?
B: I lost at the cinema
1. climb/a mountain/last summer/in the Pyrenees
A: Have you ever climbed a mountain?
B: Yes, I have
A: When did you climbe it?
B: I climbed it last summer
A: Where did you climbe it?
B: I climbed it in the Pyrenees.
2. ride/a camel/two years ago/in Egypt
A: Have you ever ridden a camel?
B: Yes, I have
A: When did you ride it?
B: I rode it two years ago
A: Where did you ride it?
B: I rode in Egypt
3. swim/in the sea/nine months ago/on the south coast
A: Have you ever swum in the sea?
B: Yes I have
A: When did you swim there?
B: I swam there, nine months ago
A: Where did you swuim?
B: I swam on the south coast
c. Vocabulary and expressions
surface: superficie
seed: semilla
spirits: Ron, ginebra, whiski
Hang man: ahorcado
Creo que sí: I think so, I hope so
Creo que no: I don´t think so, I hope not
I´m afraid of heights: Tengo miedo de altura
What was it like?: ¿Cómo fue?
Did you like?: ¿Te gustó?
So have I --> Like me --> Me to --> Yo también
Nor/Neither have I ---> Yo tampoco
